The “Alliance for Kidney Health”, a coalition founded by patients and healthcare professionals concerned with chronic kidney disease (CKD), met on June 16, 2025, at the Palais Bourbon, home of the French National Assembly.
The objective: to present policy recommendations for a comprehensive and coordinated national strategy to address CKD – similar to France’s existing national plans for cancer. Among the keynote speakers was Bénédicte STENGEL | cesp epidemiologist and emeritus research director at the Clinical epidemiology | cesp, who provided an overview of this underrecognized yet widespread condition. CKD affects between 5% and 10% of the adult population in France and places a significant burden on the healthcare system.
